The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned "the heinous assault carried out by the terrorist group Al Shabaab on Garissa University in Kenya on Thursday and which claimed the lives of dozens of innocent people and wounded several others."
In a statement issued today, the Foreign Ministry said "this cowardly terrorist act goes against the teachings and principles of Islam and other divine religions, and is an attack against humanity."
"The ministry extends sincere condolences of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the families of the victims and to the leadership and people of the Republic of Kenya and wished the injured a speedy recovery," the statement said.
"The ministry urges the international community to take decisive and urgent action to put an end to the criminal operations carried out by the various terrorist groups in the world for the aim of destabilising the security and stability in all countries of the world."
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's firm stance in rejecting terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and in backing all efforts to rid the world of these dangerous groups.
