The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments said that in the light of the verdict issued from the Civil High Court of Appeal upholding the verdict that had been issued to dissolve the so-called "Ulama Council" and liquidate its funds and close its headquarters; the Implementation Court has passed its resolution for implementing the aforesaid verdict through the competent bodies.
The court of appeal's verdict issued recently indicated that the dissolved organisation had carried out political activity under sectarian, religious cover in the form of a "political society" under a religious name without obtaining the necessary licensing in compliance with the provisions of Law No.: 26/2005 which regulates political societies. Even it had swerved in its practice of this activity to the extent of its instigation of violence resulting in the creation of sectarian strife in the country. Also, the dissolved "Ulama Council" supported some officially licensed political societies for instance "Al-Wefaq Society" and the Islamic Action Society "Amal" the latter is a political society implicated in incitement of violence which has been dissolved by a court verdict.
The Grand Administrative Court had issued a verdict dissolving the so-called "Ulama Council" which had carried out political activity in breach of the law and the Constitution and even swerved in carrying out such activity to the extent of its instigation of violence.
This comes in the light of unlicensed organisation's continuation of its illegal activities despite repeated warnings issued from the competent authorities to those in charge of this outlawed organisation which has breached the Constitution and the Law since its inception and failed to respond to the continual invitations reminding it to adjust its organisational and practical status in compliance with applicable laws.
