
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and Together Society for Human Rights (Ma'an i.e. Together) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to consolidate bilateral coordination and cooperation in the field of boosting the safeguarding of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain .
The Institution's Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Farhan praised the role undertaken by the society aimed to boost and spread the culture of human rights nationally, regionally and worldwide, stressing at the same time that this MoU comes to activate the Institution's jurisdiction and goals as per Law 26/2014. He said that the memorandum of understanding comprises the exchanging of visits, consultation and publications, in addition to organisation and arrangement of workshops, training courses, joint activities.
The Society's board chairwoman Dr. Mona Mohammed Hijris underscored the importance of the memorandum of understanding to support the work of civil society organisations related to human rights, exchanging information and expertise and assist both sides in carrying out their jurisdictions.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ahmed Farhan on behalf of the NIHR and Dr. Mona Hijris on behalf of Ma'an .
