Bahrain has officially announced that its air force has joined allied forces in their "attack and destruction" of several terrorist targets as part of international efforts aimed to bolster regional security.
The tiny Gulf Kingdom's air force warplanes, "at the early hours of morning, carried out the attack and destruction of several targets and locations belonging to terrorist groups," a senior unnamed official told the state Bahrain news agency, BNA.
The US administration had announced earlier on Tuesday that its forces, along with allied forces, were carrying out an aerial attack on some 20 locations belonging to the insurgent group Islamic State (ISIL) in Syria.
