The Charge d'affaires at the Lebanese Embassy in Bahrain Ibrahim Assaf was summoned by the Foreign Ministry to express condemnation towards recent "hostile statements" by Secretary General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah towards the Kingdom.
A statement by the Ministry said that Undersecretary at the Foreign Ministry Abdullah Abdulatif expressed his country's dissatisfaction with the statements that were in contrast with the strong Bahraini-Lebanese relations.
"The statements were in violation of Bahraini and GCC internal affairs and contained direct incitement for terror and violence that required a firm response from Bahrain," said the official.
Abdulatif stressed that Bahrain was keen on relations with Lebanon; however, the Kingdom will not allow any act that meddles with its internal affairs.
