
The 9th International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) regional security summit, the Manama Dialogue 2013, will be held on Dec. 6-8 in Bahrain, bringing together hundreds of military chiefs and security officials, the Arabic daily reported on Wednesday. The report said that the main topics of the inter-governmental summit will include Gulf and Middle East security issues including crisis in Syria, Egypt, regional conflict resolution, the management of political Islam and sectarianism as well as the future of GCC integration and military cooperation. According to the report, U.S. Secretary of Defense, Iranian Foreign Minister and other foreign and defense ministers from about 20 countries as well as dozens of senior national security officials will attend the summit.
