Jameel Rabii, the Bahraini national who was injured in the terrorist blast in Karranah on Friday evening, said that he was driving his car when the explosion occurred and hit him.
“It was so sudden and we were injured,” he said. “It was a serious situation and we thank God that we have survived the deadly blast. God has given us a new life,” he told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) from his bed in Salmaniya Medical Complex where he is being treated.
Dr Munsif Al Sayes, the emergency department consultant, said that the victim, 53, suffered multiple injuries to his face, neck, thighs, legs and abdomen.
“The X-rays have shown there were no fractures, but we will have a CT scan within hours to check if there is anything that needs immediate medical attention,” he said.
The consultant added that the patient’s condition was stable, but he needed to be under observation for up to 72 hours to ensure his safety.
