
The Cassation Court rejected today an electoral appeal by Adnan Al Maliki against Khalid Al-Shaer, thus confirming the later's victory, President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and Executive Director of the parliamentary and municipal elections Abdullah Al Buainin said. Candidate Al Maliki demanded re-voting in the first constituency of the Southern Governorate after voicing dissatisfaction with the announced result.
The court also rejected another appeal by the parliamentary candidate Sumaya Al Jowder, on the tenth constituency of the Capital Governorate, against the National Elections Supervisory Committee. The Cassation Court has so far ruled out eleven electoral appeals.
