
The Bahrain e-Government Authority is on good track to meet the goals of the ambitious eGA National Strategy 2016. It announced that it had succeeded last year in achieving 91.3 per cent of the annual indices set in the eGA National Strategy 2016.e-GA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said that last year was ideal, commending cooperation and coordination between all concerned departments to enhance government performance.In a press conference today, he stressed the importance of assessing indices featuring in eGA National Strategy 2016 to optimize government sustainable performance benchmarks – in line with the directives of the High Committee for Information Technology and Telecommunications, chaired by Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa.e-GA Deputy CEO Dr. Zakariya Ahmed Al-Khaja and Strategy eBusiness and Process Reengineering Nazar Maarouf attended the press conference. Mr. Al-Qaed stressed the importance of reaching out to the public, outlining achievements and developments and assessing measurable results on an annual basis.He highlighted the key achievements for 2013, citing particularly the launch of the new online complaints and suggestion system (Tawasul), which will allow citizens and residents to share feedback on the quality of government service as well as submit complaints.The e-GA has also launched the pilot phase of Bahrain's Business Licensing Integrated System (BLIS) through which business registry will be handled as a one-stop service. It has also started implementing "Zajel" service, an online system aimed at easing correspondence between the ministries and other national entities. The cyber scheme has been coordinated with the Cabinet General Secretariat.Strategy eBusiness and Process Reengineering Nazar Maarouf announced the launch of three eGA projects costing each BD20, 000 per year. A personal data and privacy system will be implemented in ten government establishments in 2014 in partnership with the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO).
