The Council of Representatives' First Deputy Speaker Ali Abdullah Al Aradi considered the Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary experience more than mature.
He added that achieving development in all spheres in Bahrain is one of the Council's priorities plan. He said that the real challenge to parliament means amending of laws and legislations in the interest of the homeland and citizens and that MPs work should change as they represent their constituents and the whole people.
Al Aradi told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that MPs should change the stereotypical notion of an MP through practical performance and should hold themselves accountable before they hold others accountable as there are bigger roles of MPs to undertake apart from their conventional roles, including services and regionalism, alluding to the legislative, political and monitoring roles of MPs in order to enhance performance, boost efficacy and develop the legislature.
