
Human Rights Affairs Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman received the Chairman Gulf Centre for Strategic Studies (GCSS) Dr. Omar Al-Hassan and his accompanying delegation.
The Minister welcomed the delegation, praising the Centre's highly professional, skillful research efforts, especially the Centre's published studies which discussed current issues in the Gulf. The Minister said that the Centre's publications receive so much attention from the Ministry of Human Rights Affairs as the Centre is committed to credibility its in compilation of thorough, informative, objective research studies.
Dr. Salah bin Ali praised the Centre's supportive role of revealing the true facts regarding the unfortunate incidents which took place and targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain and its political system in simulation of events that took place in other Arab countries which have their unique geo-political setup. The Minister praised the Centre's role in responding to fallacies propagated by some foreign newspapers and agencies regarding Bahrain's events aimed to defame the Kingdom and its reputation in the area of human rights.
The Minister emphasized the importance of mustering efforts by officials, civil society organisations and lovers of the Kingdom inside the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad and conveying the true image of events in Bahrain and successive positive developments in the Kingdom's rights record as well as progress, prosperity accomplished throughout the past years.
The Minister discussed with the attendees the Ministry's proposed compilation of a documentary book on the Kingdom of Bahrain's accomplishments in the field of human rights, democratisation, political reformation and civilizational accomplishments in the line with the comprehensive reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa since His Majesty's Accession in 1999 and also respecting all universal human rights and liberties, separation between the authorities, and boosting the people's participation, within the state of law and institutions.
The Chairman of the Gulf Strategic Studies Centre Dr. Omar Al-Hassan lauded the Ministry of Human Rights Affairs (MoHRA)'s effective role locally, in the Arab world and internationally by shedding light on the Kingdom's human rights accomplishments.
