Bahraini interior minister receives GCC chief

Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa today received GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, in the presence of Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan. The minister stressed the crucial role of the GCC General-Secretariat led by Dr Al-Zayani to promote the GCC coordination on the path to the federation. Dr Al-Zayani strongly condemned attempts seeking to destabilize Bahrain, subvert its security, and set up terror cells with the aim of committing criminal acts targeting citizens and residents. He affirmed the GCC full support for the measures undertaken in Bahrain to preserve security and stability and protect society. He also paid tribute to the security forces for their role in maintaining stability, describing Bahrain\'s security as an integral part of the GCC security.
