His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has lauded the continuous efforts of the Government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to achieve the goals of the Reform Project and implement its visions and policies to consolidate the hard-won political, economic and social achievements.
Replying to the statement issued by the cabinet today, HM the King praised the crucial role played by HRH Premier to optimise the civilisational accomplishments in the kingdom by launching development strategies and projects that contributed to the kingdom’s development boom.
HM King Hamad lauded HRH the Prime Minister’s constant keenness and interest to preserve his approach to communicate and reach out to all Bahraini families and tribes in order to cement national cohesion and encourage all segments of the Bahraini society to exert more efforts and contribute to the renaissance of modern Bahrain.
HM the King affirmed the kingdom’s unwavering resolve to carry on its national approach according to its Reform Approach, with the backing of Bahraini families, tribes and all citizens, who have always been defenders of the homeland throughout history.
HM Kin Hamad praised the Bahraini tribes and families, being role models of loyalty, patriotism and dedication in the service of the homeland and its stability and progress.
HM the King called for the need to preserve human principles and values based on the precepts of Islam and the deep-rooted Bahraini traditions, voicing confidence in the Bahraini people’s determination to stand united against whoever seeking to harm them through extremism, sectarianism or distortion of the kingdom’s reputation for the aim of foiling their evil goals and intentions.
HM King Hamad directed the government to carry on its efforts to consolidate the kingdom’s stability, preserve national achievements, and promote security and safety for the citizens and residents.
He also ordered stringent measures to end attempts to sow sedition and sectarian divide and deal firmly with outlaws.
HM the King praised the progress made by the government regarding the implementation of the recommendations of the National Assembly, calling on it to treat them as a guiding work plan representing the people’s will and aspirations for a secure and stable life.
HM King Hamad expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the government and HRH Premier for their development and modernisation efforts and projects aiming to improve the citizens’ living standards, voicing confidence in the government’s ability to meet the requirements of the coming period and embark on a new phase of nation-building and development in order to bring about more landmark achievements.
HM the King was responding to a statement issued by the cabinet during its meeting, chaired by HRH Premier at the Gudaibiya Palace today.
In its statement, the cabinet expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to all Bahraini tribes and families for their letters in which they pledged unwavering allegiance and loyalty to HM King Hamad and readiness to rally behind the nation and its leadership on all occasions and at all times, noting that they have set themselves as role models of patriotism and dedication to the cherished land, the Secretary-General of Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said following the session.
He added that the cabinet had affirmed that full-fledged support to HM the King’s "wise approach" would benefit the kingdom and its loyal people, enhance its development and progress and ensure the continuity of the Royal Reform Project.
The Council of Minister added that the keenness of Bahraini families and tribes to renew allegiance and loyalty reflect the Bahraini people’s deep-rooted firm approach spearheaded by the forefathers and preserved by the successive generations, stressing that Bahraini tribes and families have always been –and still are – protective shields of the homeland against all challenges.
The cabinet added that those letters proved anew the genuine mettle and national stances of Bahraini families and tribes, whose contributions to building modern Bahrain and crucial role in promoting Bahrain as an oasis of tolerance, co-existence, fraternity and peace will be recorded in history with golden letters.
"The historic stances of the Bahraini families and tribes deserves all our respect and appreciation," the cabinet said, describing them as a beacon of patriotism that should be passed to the coming generations in order to understand the real meaning of dedication to the nation in a critical phase requiring all sides to be united and rally together behind the leadership in order to face the challenges and enhance the kingdom’s status at the regional and global arenas.
The cabinet urged all segments to join ranks in order to enable the kingdom to carry on its comprehensive development march and face all attempts to undermine national security and stability.
In another context, the cabinet lauded the "constructive" role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) in empowering Bahraini women and enabling them to contribute actively to the national action march through supporting their effective presence in the political, cultural and social fields.
The cabinet praised the landmark achievements of the SCW under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and the SCW President.
In another context, HRH Premier directed to ensure sustainable funding for the public budget’s expenses, keep public debt at reasonable levels and reduce it by taking a number of procedures, including the restructuring of the government apparatus, reducing expenditures, increasing state revenues, reducing the level of the government deficit and adoption of initiatives and programmes to spur various economic sectors and generate job opportunities for Bahraini job seekers, and taking advantage of the Gulf Development Fund to implement strategic government projects.
The cabinet requested the committees in charge of rationalising expenditure and increasing revenues and productivity at ministries and government departments to put forward the necessary plans, work plans and schedule to achieve that.
The cabinet discussed updating the kingdom’s commercial legal and legislative system so as boost economic development, cope with the kingdom’s economic vision and attract more foreign investments to the country.
The issue will be examined by the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
The Ministerial Council also discussed laws to promote and protect commercial competition and asked the Economic Development Board (EDB) to study the issue with the relevant sides.
The cabinet also discussed a memo submitted by the Foreign Affairs Minister on ways to enhance technical and capacity-building cooperation in the human rights field with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to take advantage of its international legal experts to promote the kingdom’s efforts in this regard and launch the necessary programmes and activities, Dr. Al-Nasser said.
