
The business community today saluted the keynote speech, which was delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on the Kingdom's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne.
"The royal keynote address has embodied the aspirations of Bahrainis in the march of modernization, reform and development", Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Khalid Abdulrahman Almoayyed said.
He paid tribute to HM the King for laying solid foundations for Bahrain’s fledgling democracy, ever since he embarked on the pioneering reform project.
In a statement today, he hailed the landmark strides, stressing the importance of building on hard-won achievements to usher in a new chapter in national work.
He noted the royal tribute to loyal Bahrainis who turned out massively and cast their ballots in the recent parliamentary and municipal elections which bolstered the Kingdom’s democratic march, thus revealing their unwavering allegiance to the homeland and the constitution.
Mr. Al-Moayyed hailed the unity bonding the wise leadership and the people, crediting citizens’ from all walks of life for the remarkable achievements and development strides, which placed Bahrain among developed countries and civilized nations.
The BCCI chief urged all citizens to join ranks and work hand in hand so as to preserve the national unity and protect social cohesion, being a collective responsibility.
"Our biggest future challenge is to develop economic competiveness, in a fierce regional and international competitive environment, create jobs for citizens and enhance the standards of living", he said.
