
The Parliament has today convened for its second weekly meeting under the first session of the fourth legislative term. Chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, the meeting discussed the law decrees which were issued at the end of the 4th session of the 3rd legislative term so as to refer them to the relevant parliamentary committee.
The meeting reviewed the lists of nominees for different parliamentary committees, and discussed a proposal to set up a committee which will be assigned to reply to the royal keynote speech at the opening of the first session of the 4th legislative session.
An urgent proposal relating to the establishment of an independent Culture and Tourism Authority has been put off for one week upon the Government's request. An urgent proposal on separating the salaries of wives of husbands for housing eligibility has also been discussed. The proposal was approved and referred to the Government.
