
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Kahlifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today called on the international community to canvass efforts for an organized collective action aims to enhance global peace and prevent risks of conflicts taking place in the international arena.
HRH Premier, in a letter addressed to the world marking the International Day of Peace 2014, to be held under the slogan "The Right of Peoples to Peace", said that the world is facing a serious terrorism and extremism challenges that lead to dire consequences, and that efforts should be joined to reinforce the effectiveness and strength of the UN system to address these growing threats. He highlighted the adoption of an integrated strategy to face the threat resulting from the growing terrorism and extremist ideology in many countries.
HRH Premier added that terrorism will turn against all those who adopt or support it, and it has become the greatest danger that threatens humanity in the absence of the spirit of tolerance and the rule of language of interests of some international powers towards many issues and conflicts.
HRH Premier noted that all heavenly religions call for peace and peaceful coexistence as a noble human value for the benefit of mankind, stressing that the Islamic principles reject all forms of terrorism. He underscored the respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs, which is a universal principle adopted by the United Nations, that violating it would threaten international peace and security.
He affirmed that holding dialogues and negotiations in the settlement of international conflicts are essential in promoting the world's peace, security and stability, as well as the respect of international law, principles and norms.
He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will always remains committed to its international obligations and will support all international or regional efforts aim to promote security and stability in the world.
He underlined Bahrain's efforts in combating terrorism, thanks to the national unity that has failed all plans have targeted destabilizing Bahrain.
He called for the dissemination of peace and coexistence culture to strengthen security and stability, emphasizing the importance of international community's resolve in attaining peace.
He accentuated the need to reach a comprehensive settlement to conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the Palestinian cause to achieve peace and stability in the region.
He noted the UN huge responsibility to initiate initiatives aim to bolster international peace and to encounter the growing international challenges. He hailed the UN efforts in maintaining international peace and security in the interest of the people and to ensure a suitable climate for sustainable development in all fields.
