
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the economic, political and military complementarity among countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will speed up efforts to establish the Gulf Union, and meet the GCC peoples' aspirations in this regard, noting that the success of the recent GCC Summit in Doha consolidated that fact.
"GCC leaders and peoples have no difference over the common destiny bonding their countries, and agree on the fact that the GCC is the entity through which the member states are protected and their interests are safeguarded," he said.
HRH Premier asserted that the situation the region is currently going through makes the "Gulf Union" a necessity in order to deal with it appropriately, noting that the Unified Military Command and Gulf Police will reinforce the pillars of security and stability across GCC states, and unify stances towards security challenges, and therefore pave the way for addressing them more easily.
HRH Premier made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, who informed him about the outcomes of the 35th Summit of the GCC Supreme Council in Doha, and conveyed to him greetings from GCC leaders, and their wishes of further progress and progress to Bahrain.
He also congratulated HRH Premier of the outstanding success of the parliamentary and municipal elections, describing them as a step forward in the kingdom's democratic march.
HRH the Prime Minister lauded the resolutions and recommendations of the Doha Summit, noting that they will enhance joint GCC march and ensure a more prosperous future for GCC peoples.
HRH Premier commended GCC leaders' keenness to push joint cooperation further for the benefit of all GCC citizens.
He called for the need to step up cooperation and coordination among GCC countries in order to cover all fields, and therefore achieve the interests of GCC citizens.
HRH Premier valued highly the efforts exerted by the GCC Secretary-General and affiliates of the GCC Secretariat-General to coordinate among member states in order to bring about more achievements that boost joint GCC march.
