
Deputy Prime Minister and Ministerial Committee of Services and Infrastructures Chairman, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, emphasized the Government's keenness on maintaining healthiest, cleanest cities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Government provides efficient, high-quality services to citizens commensurate with urbanization and housing development projects in Bahrain.
The Deputy Premier chaired a meeting attended by Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Jum'a bin Ahmed Al-Kaabi, the Ministry's Undersecretary, general directors and specialists. The meeting explored the Ministry's action plan for cleaning services in all five governorates of the Kingdom.
The meeting discussed the anticipated tender to name a qualified, experienced international cleaning firm capable of working 24/7 all over the Kingdom's areas under all circumstances.
The meeting discussed difficulties and challenges facing the Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning regarding construction waste removal, and its legal and security aspects and imposition of deterrent penalties on violators.
The meeting considered the pledging of all potentials to expand the capacity of Southern Governorate's waste dumping grounds suitable to the urban development and investments in order to facilitate the elimination of waste and construction debris around the clock.
Shaikh Khalid urged the Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning for more cooperation with all the relevant departments to ensure continuity of cleaning jobs all over the Kingdom's areas and to regularly present proposals and recommendations to the Government for implementation.
Shaikh Khalid praised the Ministry's efforts in constantly maintaining cleanliness and removal of waste from streets and all the various areas citing the Ministry's provision of facilitation to cleaning companies so as to carry out their assigned duties. He urged intensification of public awareness and media campaigns that boost the awareness of citizens and residents.
The Minister expressed gratitude and appreciation of the Government's support to the Ministry which facilitates the work of the municipalities in all disciplines. The Minister presented an overview of performance of cleaning companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
