Bahraini police arrested on Sunday several suspects after serving a search warrant of the suspects' homes and confiscating weapons, ammunitions and explosive materials.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement that "the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science announced that as part of ongoing efforts to protect the security and general order of the nation, the Criminal Investigation Police arrested several suspects after serving a search warrant of the suspects' homes that was issued by the Public Prosecution.
"Police confiscated a number of guns, ammunition, bomb making materials and knives at one of the search locations," the statement, carried out by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), said.
The General Directorate said that the seized materials were sent to the forensic lab and that legal procedures are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution, the statement added.
The statement noted that "the General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has started examining the confiscated mobile phones and other electronic devices".
