
Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has congratulated Kuwait on the National Days, noting on the occasion His Highness the Amir's role in developing the country and re-affirming solidarity with the Kuwaiti people.
The Bahrain Prime Minister made the remarks during a reception, held by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Kuwait's Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah, celebrating 54th Anniversary of Kuwait's National Day and the country's 24th Liberation Day.
Prince Khalifa, who took part in the broad gathering late on Sunday, said his participation in the celebration was intended to express appreciation for Kuwait, namely His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for taking "honorable stances" in support of the Kingdom, also noting Sheikh Sabah's role in developing his country.
Prince Khalifa expressed congratulations to Kuwait, namely the leadership and people, on the National and Independence Day, affirming solidarity with Kuwait, noting its supportive stances on the Kingdom side, with the historic ties bonding the two countries.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador Sheikh Azzam congratulated the Kuwaiti leaderships, namely Their Highnesses the Amir, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister on these events.
"We are celebrating this occasion while we feel proud of the international honoring of Kuwait as a Humanitarian Center and His Highness the Amir as a Humanitarian Leader," Sheikh Azzam stated, recalling as well the national martyrs who had fallen for service of the homeland.
The celebratory reception was attended by Bahraini ministers, officials, Arab and foreign ambassadors, businessmen and Kuwaiti students studying in the Kingdom.
Kuwait celebrates the National, or Independence, Day, on February 25th, and the Day of Liberation the next day, when the country was liberated from the Iraqi occupation that began on August 2, 1990. The aggression on the State of Kuwait was launched by troops of the executed Iraqi ruler, Saddam Hussein.
