
Chairman of Tunisia's Constituent Assembly and Secretary General of Democratic Forum for Labour and Liberties (or Ettakatol party) Mustapha Ben Jaafar announced Thursday he will stand for the the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for November 23.
Rahma Al-Hammami, the spokesman for the leftist 12-party Popular Front coalition, and Chairman of Free National Union Party Salim Al-Riyahi also announced their candidacies for the polls today.
This brings to 11 the number of presidential hopefuls since registration for the elections opened last weekend; the process will end on September 23.
