
Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Ahmed Bin Heli received on Saturday Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Kerati who handed him an invitation to Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Arabi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir at the Sudanese National Assembly on June 2.
In statements on Saturday, Bin Heli asserted that the AL chief is keen on responding to the invitation and conveyed his greetings to the Sudanese people and government on the success of the parliamentary and presidential elections.
The meeting took up the outcome of the recent parliamentary and presidential elections which were sponsored by observers from the Arab League, regional and international organizations.
They also discussed the latest developments on the Arab arena, especially the situation in Libya, the efforts exerted to put into effect Sharm El Sheikh Arab summit resolutions on the formation of a joint Arab force.
