
Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail has been assigned by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to form a new government within a week.
Ismail graduated from Engineering Faculty, Ain Shames University in 1978. He had worked for Enpi Company from 1979 till 2000 and occupied the post of director general of technical affairs and board member of Enpi.
He also worked as undersecretary for the petroleum ministry from 2000 till 2005 and a board chairman of Egas from 2005 till 2007.
The newly appointed premier also occupied the post of board chairman of Ganoub el Wadi (South Valley) Oil Holding Comany from 2007 till 2013. He was later appointed as petroleum minister in outgoing prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab's government in 2013.
