Families living in coastal town Bologhine, which houses were damaged by Friday’s earthquake, have been re-housed on the same day, said Saturday Algiers Prefecture’s housing director Smail Loumi.
Those families were re-housed ''following the instructions of Minister of State, Minister of the Interior and Local Assemblies, Tayeb Belaiz,'' the official told APS on the sidelines of Algiers prefect visit to El Hamiz (district east of Algiers).
58 families from Bologhine whose homes were damaged following this earthquake have been re-housed a new town of Chaïbia, in the commune of Ouled Chebel, said Smail Loumi.
Also as part of the management of the earthquake impacts, three teams of the building technical control (CTC) were assigned to expertise nearly 2,000 houses ''threatened to collapse” in Bab El Oued, the Casbah, Belouizdad and Bordj El Kiffan.
''These families will all be re-houses based on priorities, which will be established by the CTC experts,'' said Algiers Prefect Zoukh.
The 5.6- magnitude earthquake which hit early Friday morning the capital and its suburbs, has left six (6) dead and 420 wounded, according to hospital services.
