The cabinet is mulling a proposal on using smart cards for gas cylinders to avoid any crises, especially in the winter, the supply minister said.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Supply Minister Mohamed Ali Moselhi said a protocol would be signed soon with Tahia Misr (or Long Live Egypt) Fund to secure 500 trucks for youths to distribute commodities in most needy areas.
He noted that the protocol would contribute to solving the unemployment problem.
He added that the ministry agreed with major hypermarkets to establish a hypermarket in each governorate, especially in Upper Egypt, to secure staple commodities.
He added that the ministry plans to develop Food Industries Holding Company and its affiliates.
Under the plan, the companies would export its products to be a hard currency source, he added.
