
Cairo police chief Maj. Gen. Khaled Abdel Aal inspected security measures in Tahrir Square Monday.
Abdel Aal also inspected Talaat Harb and Abdel Men'em Riyad squares in downtown Cairo.
He urged police troops to remain on highest alert around the clock and to properly treat citizens and quickly respond to their reports.
Abdel Aal also met with some citizens who gathered in Tahrir Square to mark the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution and Police Day.
Policemen will always make sacrifices to achieve peace and security in Egypt, Abdel Aal told the citizens.
