The Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated, Friday evening, the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the National Liberation War (1 November 1954).
The ceremony started with the passage of a choral of schoolchildren who sang patriotic songs.
A press conference was led by Mujaheeda (war veteran) Zohra Drif Bitet and lawyer Ali Haroun about the role of women and immigrants in the fight of National Liberation.
Without women, no fight was possible seeing the reality of the fight scene. It was not a weapon against another, but an army against a nation. Women assumed and fulfilled their duty towards their country in the same way as the men did,” said Drif Bitat.
For his part, Ali Haroun broached the contribution and the important role of the Algerians in France in the revolution, as well as the circumstances behind the creation of the Federation of France of the National Liberation Front.
