Dozens of citizens gathered in Tahrir Square Monday to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution and Police Day.
Security measures have been upped around the square since the early morning.
The citizens are gathering near Mohamed Mahmoud Street, which is one of the entrances to the iconic square, MENA correspondent said.
They are holding Egyptian flags and pictures of police martyrs, he added.
The citizens are also shouting: "the army, police and people are one hand," he noted.
They were keen on saluting policemen deployed everywhere in the square and congratulating them on their day, the correspondent said.
Traffic is flowing smoothly through the square, he assured.
