Civilian killed in rebels\' mortar attack in Damascus

A Syrian civilian was killed by the rebels' mortar attack on an age-old bazaar in the capital city of Damascus on Tuesday. 'Madhat Pasha' Bazaar, a reminder of Syria's ancient history, in al-Harifah district in Damascus was targeted by the militants' mortar attack, FNA reports said, adding that a civilian was killed and two others wounded in the attack. The attack also inflicted financial damage on the targeted area, including buildings, cars and shops, the reports added. The mortar attacks set fire to some shops in the busy area of the bazaar. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country. Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots to topple President Bashar al-Assad, who is well known in the world for his anti-Israeli stances.
