The committee for restoring state-owned lands resumed its meetings on Wednesday under Presidential Assistant for national and strategic projects Ibrahim Mahlab.
The meeting tackled means of removing encroachments on state lands in several governorates, said the head of the General Authority for Reconstruction Projects and Agricultural Development (GARPAD).
The committee works on restoring thousands of feddans in several governorates, Ayman Maadawi said, noting that these lands worth billions.
Presidential Adviser for security and anti-terror affairs Ahmed Gamal Eddin attended the meeting along with Local Development Minister Ahmed Zaki Badr.
Mahlab said the committee will coordinate with the authorities concerned to take effective measures to restore these lands in the coming period.
Land restoration will not be a random process, he said, noting that all social and economic dimensions will be considered.
