The Director-General of Police in the Capital Governorate said that material evidence indicates that the community centre (maatam) in the Abubham area in which the fire broke out on Saturday evening was used by thugs to target security servicemen with Molotov cocktails.
Other materials used in acts of sabotage and riots were discovered at the site.
The Civil Defence succeeded in putting out the fire that spread quickly due to the presence of other inflammable substances. The forensic laboratory concluded that a short circuit was the cause of the fire.
