The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan announced the arrest of suspects in the terror blast that occurred yesterday in Damistan. Policeman Ali Mohammed Ali was killed in the blast by a homemade bomb.
The Chief said in a statement to Bahrain TV that the initial investigation revealed similarities between yesterday’s blast in Damistan and the blast in Karzakan this morning that killed a 62-year-old Bahraini man. Similarities were found in the signature components of the bomb and in the use of mobile phone detonators. He said that the same signatures in bomb-making were used in previous terror operations.
The Chief offered his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased policeman and to the family and relatives of Abdulkareem Mohammed Al Basri who died today in Karzakan. He said the investigations will continue to identify suspects and refer them to the Public Prosecution.
The Chief called upon citizens and resident with any information regarding the incident to call the police hotline at 80008008. All calls are treated as anonymous.
