Dubai-based charity organisation, Dar Al Ber Society, DABS, carried out twelve thousand four hundred charitable, humanitarian and developmental projects in the first nine months of 2016.
Among them, 3,629 projects were completed in the first quarter, 4,873 in the second, and 3,502 in the third quarter, benefitting thousands of people, according to a top official.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, the Executive Director of the society, said that these projects were undertaken by the Projects Department in pursuance of the vision and directives of the UAE's prudent leadership.
"Many relief campaigns and projects were accomplished in collaboration with the accredited entities over the period from January to September for the benefit of indigent people around the world," he added.
An Islamic education complex was built in the Sudan, and a number of water wells were dug there and in other countries, he noted. "We also built several mosques and organised mass Iftar banquets during Ramadan."
The Adahi, or sacrificed meat, and Eid clothes were distributed to poor and low-income people as well, Bin Zayed explained. "Many Quran study centres and classrooms were built while Zakat Al Fitr was distributed to eligible people."
