Libya's Darul-Iftaa announced that Monday, July 28, is the first day of Eidul-Fitr (Lesser Bairam).
The authority said in a statement issued Sunday evening that its scholars were able to observe the crescent of Shawwal month of the Arabic lunar Hijri calendar this year.
This means that today is the last day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan and that tomorrow is the first of Shawwal, it said.
On this occasion, the government expressed congratulations to the Libyan people, wishing it to be a good chance for reconciliation, tolerance and love among all the Libyan people.
