The Observatory of Takfir Fatwas, which is affiliated to the Egyptian Darul Iftaa (the department in charge of issuing religious opinion) on Tuesday underlined the necessity of enhancing efforts for fighting radical ideologies in Africa.
In a released statement, it called for dispatching scholars to several areas in Africa to stand up to the extremist ideas disseminated by terrorist groups.
The observatory warned of an increase of suicide attacks that victimize several innocent people and undermine peace and security.
The statement was issued in response to terrorist attacks that have recently taken place in Cameroon and left at least 30 people dead.
