
Police Chief of Diyala province Lt. Gen. Jamil Al-Shammari announced on Sunday that the police forces secured safe passages for the exit of dozens of families from the villages of the northern district of Muqdadiya trying to be exploited by the IS as human shields.
He said in a press statement that the security forces in cooperation and coordination with tribal figures in the villages north of Muqdadiya succeeded in securing the safe passages for the exit of dozens of families to safe areas away from the grip of the IS organization who tried to exploit the families as human shields to block the progress of security forces.
