
Chairman of Darfur Regional Authority, Dr. Al-Tigani Sessi, Thursday received in his office the Chairman of the joint UN and African Union Mission for Darfur (UNAMID), Mohamed bin Chambas, who informed Dr. Sessi on outcome of the visits which were paid by the Chairman of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel for Sudan, Thabo Mbeki, to Addis Ababa and Doha during which he discussed implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur and progress of the national dialogue and made contacts with the armed movements.
Dr. Sessi and bin Chambas also reviewed the implementation of projects in Darfur and the role of the Qatari mediator in the implementation of these projects.
The meeting also discussed the measures that were adopted for combating crime in South Darfur and agreed on the necessity of cease-fire and to give a chance for success of the national dialogue and arrival of the humanitarian aid to the displaced people.
In a press statement, bin Chambas called on the North Sector and the armed movements to stick to self-restraint and the peaceful means.
