
Tourism Minister Khaled Ramy decided on Wednesday to extend Egypt at Our Heart Initiative till the end of September.
The extension comes upon the directives of Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to boost internal tourism in Luxor and Aswan.
The initiative was supposed to end on June 30.
The initiative was developed by the Tourism Ministry in cooperation with Misr Travel Company, Egypt Air, Karnak travel agency, the Petroleum Services Company, the Chamber of Hotels, and the Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETAA).
Taba and Nuweiba were included in this initiative as part of efforts to increase occupancy in those areas and promote tourism to boost the ailing tourism sector.
Egyptians visiting archaeological places from Ramadan till end of August will be exempted from visitation fees.
