
Assistant Foreign Minister for multilateral affairs Ambassador Hisham Badr has chaired the Egyptian delegation to the European Union and African Horn initiative meeting in Sharm el Skeikh to discuss combating illegal immigration.
The two-day event kicked off on Thursday to discuss the Rome Declaration on combating trafficking.
Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea and South Sudan attended the meeting on the African side, while the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Malta represented the European side.
Also present at the meetings are the European Union, the African Union and a number of international organizations including the UN, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and International Organization for Migration.
The Egyptian delegation to the meeting will propose a set of training projects to combat illegal migration.
