Egypt fully backs the Sudanese national dialogue as the only way to avoid civil war, said Egypt's Ambassador here Osama Shaltout.
"Egypt stands at the same distance from all the parties," he said on Thursday at an interview with Al Taghier newspaper.
He noted that there is no Egyptian initiative to converge views between the Sudanese parties.
"We consider this as an internal affair, and we stick to our longstanding policy of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs," he added.
He, meanwhile, asserted that there has always been bilateral cooperation in many regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Shaltout hailed the enduring and strategic ties that bind the two African countries, noting that the two-way trade has reached USD850 million in 2014.
"We aspire to increase the two-way trade volume, especially after opening new crossing points between Egypt and Sudan," the ambassador said.
