
Assistant Foreign Minister for Neighboring countries ossama el Magdoub chaired on Saturday a meeting of Libya Neighboring Countries held in Niamey, Niger.
Magdoub presented the efforts exerted by Egypt to reach a political solution to the Libyan crisis and support to efforts exerted by Bernardino Leon, the United Nations Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, a statement by the foreign ministry said.
He highlighted the need to counter extremism and terror in Libya and the importance of arming the Libyan army to counter terror and boost the political way out.
Magdoub presented the threats Egypt faces due to the deterioration of the security situation in Libya.
