
Iraqi President Fuad Masum underlined the importance of enhancing relations between Egypt and Iraq especially in the security and military domains so as to overcome terrorism represented by Daesh extremist group.
The president's remark came during his meeting held with Egyptian Ambassador here Ahmed Darwish.
Darwish handed Masum an official invitation form Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to attend the inauguration ceremony of the New Suez Canal.
The two nations face the same enemy, namely terrorism which harms the stability, economy and future of the two countries, Masum reiterated, calling for exchanging security and military expertise.
Darwish expressed his country's desire to expand ties with Iraq, according to press statement issued by the Iraqi presidency.
