Egypt is the sole Arab country capable of closing ranks among Arab and Islamic nations, a member of the Palestinian Fatah Central Committee said on Saturday.
In statements to MENA correspondent in Ramallah, Amal Hamad said uniting Arab and Islamic States would serve the Palestinian cause.
Hamad added that Egypt's accession to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will positively affect the Palestinian cause and get the international community to place the Palestinian cause at the top of its priorities as the international community is busy by its fight against terror.
She said the best way for fighting regional and international terror is putting an end to the Israeli occupation and helping the Palestinians to restore their lands.
She added that terror gangs manipulate Islam and the Palestinian cause to attain their goals of destabilizing the region.
Egypt's chairmanship of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee will be decisive in combating the real terrorism in the Middle East – namely the Israeli terror, she said.
She added that it is the Israelis who torched people, citing the burning of Dawbsheh family and child Mohamed Abu-Khodeir.
She added that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has stressed in his address on the 51st anniversary of the Palestinian revolution that the PA did not kowtow to the US and Israeli pressure and clung to the Palestinian people's rights.
She added that Abbas underlined the efforts being exerted by Fatah and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to end the Palestinian schism, urging Hamas to consider the Palestinian national interests away from clannish interests and regional States, like Turkey and Iran, that seek to take the helm of the Gaza Strip.
She noted that Fatah will proceed its march of struggle until ending the occupation and liberating the Palestinian territories.
