
The Egyptian Consulate in New York opened early Monday its door to voters to take part in the run-off of the second round of Egypt's parliamentary elections.
As many as 426 candidates running on an individual basis will compete over 213 seats.
The runoff covers the governorates of Cairo, Qalyoubiya, Daqahliya, Menufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.
A total of 37,141 Egyptian expatriates voted in the first phase of the second phase that took place between November 21 and 23 for Egyptians abroad and in the country. This marks an increase of around 22 percent compared to expat votes in the first stage in October.
