
Egypt took part in a meeting against the Daesh terrorist group held in Canadian Quebec city under Iraqi and Canadian foreign ministers as well as US Special Presidential Envoy John Allen.
The Egyptian delegation was led by Egypt's Ambassador to Canada Motaz Zahran.
The meeting took up the efforts exerted by Egypt in the political, military, cultural and religious fields to combat this extremist group which is based on eccentric ideas.
Zahran underlined the importance of fighting Daesh worldwide by the forces of the international coalition, especially in Libya, not only in Syria and Iraq.
He stressed also on the need to combat all the groups that adopt the ideas of the terrorist organization regardless of their names.
A strategy should be adopted to totally overcome Daesh as soon as possible, the Egyptian diplomat reiterated according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.
He further said that the religious institutions, atop of which Al Azhar, reject the extremist ideas of Daesh.
