
Egypt's Foreign Minister met with his South Sudanese counterpart Barnaba Benjamin on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York.
Shourkry stressed the importance of providing the necessary guarantees to implement peace agreement between the government and the opposition factions, said spokesman for Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abo Zaid.
The top diplomat voiced Egypt's full commitment to support development programs in South Sudan.
Benjamin extended thanks to Egypt for its stances supporting South Sudan.
The South Sudanese minister said that his country welcomes Egypt's move to obtain a non-permanent seat of the UN Security Council elections in October.
