
Egyptian Ambassador here Mohamed Badr Eldin held a banquet to honor Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese who is currently visiting Lebanon.
During his speech on Sunday, Badr Eldin said Egypt has a unique nature based on co-existence between religions despite the challenges it is facing.
He further hailed the patriotic stances of Pope Tawadros during the last phase, adding that he is sure that Egypt will defeat terrorism.
The diplomat underscored that facing extremism entails uniting the Egyptian and Arab nations.
For his part, the pope delivered a speech where he said it is important to adopt tolerance, justice and moderation.
He hoped that Lebanon can surpass the current challenges and achieve prosperity.
