Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa called for purging the state's administrative, executive and leading bodies from Muslim Brotherhood elements.
Speaking at a press conference Sunday, Gomaa warned that the presence of such elements inside state bodies is extremely dangerous as they inhibit the development march and could sell the country's secrets to its enemies.
The minister denied that MB leaders hold posts within the ministry, saying that countries hosting MB members should be designated as 'terror-sponsoring states'.
He said the terror attack that targeted his house in Beni Suef this dawn was not the first, saying there was a botched attempt on his life a year ago.
The minister stressed that such cowardly acts will not deter him from performing his duties toward the nation.
Gomaa said unidentified persons riding a motorbike had thrown explosive materials and opened fire from a 'sound gun' at his house in Beni Suef, but he was not present there at the time of the attack.
The minister revealed the reasons why Turkey and Qatar were not invited to the ministry's international competition for Quran memorization, to be held next month, saying the two states are hostile to Egypt and its people.
