
Border guards of the western military zone foiled on Sunday an attempt by 124 persons to illegally immigrate to Libya.
The forces arrested 30 persons from Minya, 27 from Beni Suef, 18 from Fayyoum, 11 from Sohag, eight from Assiut, eight from Beheira, six from Monoufia, five from Qena, two from Kafr el Sheikh, one from Gharbiya, one from Daqahlia and one from Matrouh as well as six others from Sudan.
A probe was launched into the incident.
Meanwhile, 162 Egyptians returned from Libya via Salloum crossing within the last 24 hours.
