
Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghafar on Sunday approved a massive reshuffle of the ministry, extending to promotions of 34 top figures and transfers of various police chiefs and officers, according to a security source
In statements to MENA, the source said the reshuffle will take effect as of August 19 and complaints and appeals will be opened for three days.
The source said the reshuffle includes a boost to some important sectors such as the explosives, electronic crimes departments as well as the human rights.
The reshuffle has taken consideration of the good performance and dedication to duty as per the promotions, added the source.
The source made it clear that the movement was delayed till after the end of special security arrangements taken to secure celebrations of the new Suez Canal inauguration.
